Kingston Cole has owned and managed his own firm, Kingston Cole & Associates (KC&A), for the last 30 years. KC&A specializes in developing joint development relationships between the public and private sectors, often known as "Public/Private Partnerships." The firm offers telecommunications consulting services to all types of governmental agencies, as well as selected private firms. Other specialties include development of creative, "cutting edge" requests for proposal (RFPs), proactive marketing and advocacy efforts on behalf of its clients and active participation (in stead of just offering advice) in negotiations to form these unique arrangements. Mr. Cole received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. He received a Juris Doctor degree from the Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska. He practiced law in Nebraska and New York before moving to California in 1973.

During the 1970's, he was employed as a political and campaign consultant by various elected officials, including the Speaker of the California Assembly, Willie L. Brown and U. S. Senator Dianne Feinstein.

In 1980, Mr. Cole accepted a management position with Pacific Bell. His job responsibilities over the next eight years included: legal work on the major AT&T antitrust cases, extensive regulatory activities before the California Public Utilities Commission, legislative advocacy with the California State legislature and the U. S. Congress, and executive officer support in the public affairs arena.

In 1987, he formed his own firm, Kingston Cole & Associates. Kingston Cole and his family now reside in San Rafael, CA.
